The Future of Economics Forum

The Future of Economics Forum draws on the expertise of University of Utah economists, together with occasional invited guests, to examine the major economic questions shaping our lives.

Through accessible, evidence-based conversations, the Forum helps students, alumni, and community members become better economic thinkers—able to evaluate evidence, question conventional wisdom, understand tradeoffs, and make sense of competing claims.

The Forum is cosponsored by the Marriner S. Eccles Institute for Economics and the Department of Economics at the University of Utah.

Who should attend?

The Forum is designed for a broad audience, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, policymakers, and members of the public. No specialized background in economics is required.

What to expect

Each Forum event will feature a speaker or panel addressing a timely question through the lens of modern economics.  Events may include lectures, moderated conversations, student Q&A, receptions, and follow-up discussions.
